Podcast Episode Show Notes
Unshakeable Faith in Unimaginable Circumstances
“There is no way that these two children were not protected by Jesus, because the unimaginable that they had was the scariest thing.”
The unimaginable. The uncertainty. The fear.
Lina’s story… A story where the unimaginable became reality.
Where uncertainty had to rest in the certainty of God.
Where fear turned to abundant faith.
Featuring
Lina Sereno
My name is Lina Sereno. I am married to my husband Carmelo for 25 years. We live in NJ and have been blessed with two sons. Salvatore and Giovanni are our world. They make me a better person and show me what it is to live life the way Jesus intended us to.
For many years I thought I needed to have the best job and make the most money to provide for my family. Having my children proved that wrong.
My sons have a rare disease called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy Disease. They have had their shares of many hospital stays and some very scary moments. They have good and bad days. Thankfully, the good days outweigh the bad.
Throughout these years, I learned I needed my faith to sustain me. My favorite expression I say to myself is, Jesus take the wheel. I will often remember this prayer too-
O God and Heavenly Father, Grant to us the serenity of mind to accept that which cannot be changed; courage to change that which can be changed, and wisdom to know the one from the other, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
I need Him in my life to keep calm while I care for my sons. I am always alert and prepared for the what ifs, and having faith has me trusting in the Lord.
