I know You see my brokenness.
You see my bleeding heart.
Why are You silent?
Why do You seem so distant right now?
“Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help” (Psalm 22:11).
Where are You?
Sometimes it seems as though when I need You most, You are nowhere to be found.
Have I lost my way?
Why can’t I see You at work in my anguish?
Is there a veil over my eyes?
“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge, and a strong tower” (Psalm 61:1-3).
You are my hope and my deliverance.
You are greater than my heart, and You know everything.
Though my mind, heart, and flesh may fail me and tempt me to doubt You, You are the strength of my life and my portion forever.
In the midst of this darkness, please give me clarity of mind.
Please help me to trust You even when I can’t see You or sense that You are with me.
Lord, sear my heart with this truth: “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8).
I’m so thankful that no matter what tricks my mind may play on me, Your word is true.
You will never leave me.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, where the pieces of my heart are scattered about, and even though You seem so far away right now…I will not fear.
I will not fear the enemy and all his evil torments or the lies he throws my way, for You are with me.
Your rod and Your staff comfort me.
My hope is in You.
