Dine Out For Hope (DOFH) is a Hunter’s Hope program where restaurants honor children with Leukodystrophies. They help us give hope through education and awareness, research, and family care for Leukodystrophies and Newborn Screening.

 

DOFH Honoring Hunter - Buffalo and Western NY

Hunter (2/14/97 – 8/5/05) had Krabbe disease, but that did not stop him from having fun. He loved horses and his daily water therapy, and especially loved hanging out with his best friend, Robert. In honor of Hunter, the Kelly Family is leading the Dine Out for Hope program in Buffalo. They have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children like their Hunter.

DOFH Honoring Tori - Harrisburg, PA

Tori (7/30/2014 – 3/27/16) had Krabbe Leukodystrophy but it did not stop her from living life with joy. She loved giraffes, lights, playing in the water, and traveling all over the United States with her family as they worked on her Bucket List. In honor of Tori, the Brackbill Family is leading the Dine Out for Hope program in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Her parents, Brennan and Lesa, have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children like their precious Tori.

DOFH Honoring Madison - Rochester, NY

Madison (4/19/2006 – 12/29/12) had Krabbe Leukodystrophy. Madison loved to swim, lay in the sun and also getting her nails done. We have begun the Dine Out For Hope Honoring Madison program in Rochester, NY to help make a difference for children just like Madison.

DOFH Honoring Marshall and Michael - Dayton, OR

David and Tammy Wilson live in Dayton, Oregon and have five children: Melaney, Mason, Bryce, Marshall (6/15/09 – 3/5/16) and Michael. Two of their children, Marshall and Michael, are affected with Krabbe Leukodystrophy. Because of Marshall, Michael was tested early for Krabbe Leukodystrophy and was able to receive a cord blood transplant at 4 months old to slow the progression of the disease. Michael is 6 years post transplant and his love of life is contagious.

DOFH - Syracuse, NY

Leukodystrophies are a family of fatal disorders that affect the white matter of the brain. They are genetic and are considered rare, however as a group 1 in 7,000 people are affected by a Leukodystrophy.
